Boys & Girls Clubs of the Portland Metropolitan Area Celebrates 10-year Partnership with PCC Structurals, Ribbon Cutting at the Lionel Clegg Boys & Girls Club - 11/14/24

(PORTLAND, Ore.) November 14, 2024—Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area and PCC Structurals, Inc. will be hosting a community celebration to commemorate their partnership at the Lionel Clegg Boys & Girls Club and unveil newly named and refreshed club.

The celebration will bring together community leaders and partners who are invested in the future of the Lents neighborhood, including elected officials, community-based organizations, staff from both PCC Structurals and the Boys & Girls Club of the Portland Metropolitan Area, along with the families served at the club.

“This partnership will result in more resources for the families we serve,” said Terry Johnson, Boys & Girls Club of Portland Metropolitan Area CEO. “It will increase our capacity to serve kids, connect them with new opportunities such as internships, and connect families to needed resources. This is a momentous occasion, and we are excited to expand on the PCC Structurals and Boys & Girls Club partnership.”

The event will include time for community leaders and partners to speak to the history of the Lionel Clegg Boys & Girls Club site, and the vision for the future of the club with PCC Structurals, Inc. as a key partner.

“PCC Structurals is proud to support the Boys & Girls Club and their mission,” said David Dugan, Director, Corporate Communications. “The Clegg Boys & Girls Club provides outstanding resources to so many youths and are a positive influence in the local community.”

This is a uniquely significant moment for us because this Club is our flagship location where we established our very first stand-alone club in 1953 by converting the old Lents Elementary school into a Club after we were initially founded in 1946.  So we’ve been serving the Greater Portland Area for 78 years, but directly serving the Lents neighborhood for 71 years at this particular location,” said Terry Johnson, CEO – Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro.
