Troutdale Partners With Multnomah County To Improve Public Safety And Save Money - 03/25/15
Last night the Troutdale City Council approved the consolidation of law enforcement services with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. This is a step forward to stabilize funding into the future, and most importantly, to provide a level of public safety that our community has come to expect.
I am proud of the achievements that our city Police Department has made over the past six years. I am equally proud of the work performed by members of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. The combination of these two agencies is a tremendous step forward in furthering community policing in East Multnomah County.
This consolidation does not dissolve the Troutdale Police Department. It is a transfer of employees from the city of Troutdale to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. All personnel will maintain employment.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office will deliver patrol enforcement services out of the Troutdale Police Community Center, which will remain under the ownership of the city, effective July 1, 2015.
I am truly looking forward to continuing to serve the people of Troutdale.
