Donald Schmunk, 90 year old missing adult from Washougal WA was located near Wenatchee WA last night at around 9:00 PM. A Washington State Patrol Trooper contacted Mr. Schmunk and found him to be safe and unharmed. Mr. Schmunk has since returned home.

On March 6th at around 1:00 p.m. Benjamin W. Walker age 27 was booked into the Clark County Jail on one count of Murder 1st Degree in connection to the death investigation underway at the residence located in the 3300 Block of H Street, Washougal.
At around 5:45 a.m. today Mr. Walker contacted police officers at the Washougal Police Department and gave the officers information which lead to the welfare check at the residence. The first responders entered the residence and verified there was a deceased person inside the residence. Detectives interviewed Mr. Walker and developed probable cause to arrest Mr. Walker for the Murder 1st Degree.
Other residents were inside the home and were not aware of the incident until after police arrived.
The crime scene investigation is still in the primary stages and will be ongoing throughout the day by detectives from the Washougal Police Department and Clark County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed by the medical examiners office. The victim's name cannot be released until after the M.E.'s office confirms the identity of the victim.
There are no additional known victims in connection to this incident and the police have no reason to believe the community is in danger.
At around 6:00 a.m. on March 6th, 2017 police officers and fire personnel responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 3300 block of "H" Street, Washougal and found a 78 year old female inside the residence who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Washougal Police Department was assisted by Camas Police and Clark County Sheriff's Office for the initial response to the residence.
Although the major crimes detectives are in the very early stages of their investigation the death is suspicious in nature and authorities have identified all of the involved parties. There is no danger to the public.
The cause and manner of the death and identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County Medical Examiner's Office.
