Friends of the Carpenter to Host H.U.G.S. Party on Jan. 17 - 01/16/18

Vancouver, WA -- Friends of the Carpenter will host a Hats, Underwear, Gloves and Socks -- or H.U.G.S. -- party on Wed., Jan. 17, 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at their Friendship Center, 1600 W 20th Street.

In addition to handing out hats, underwear, gloves and socks, a full lunch, with dessert, will be served at 12:00 pm, along with games, prizes & giveaways. Hands of Favor will provide free haircuts from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Hands of Favor is an organization that offers free professional grooming services and outreach
support to homeless and at ­risk people of all ages, including the poor, children,
families, elderly, homeless, shut-ins, and veterans. Learn more at handsoffavor.org.

Warehouse '23 to Host Cashback Day for Friends of the Carpenter on January 9 - 01/03/18

Vancouver, WA -- Warehouse '23, 100 Columbia St #102, will host a cashback fundraising event to benefit Friends of the Carpenter on Tues. Jan. 9; 50% of what each guest spends on food and beverage, including happy hour, will be donated to FOC. Guest must let their server know they are there to support FOC to ensure that 50% of their bill is donated to FOC.

"We invite our donors, volunteers and the community to join us alongside the beautiful Columbia River for a cashback fundraising event at Warehouse '23," said Tom Iberle, executive director. "We are grateful to Mark Matthias and Ali Novinger for their continued support and for this opportunity."

Friends of the Carpenter the Beneficiary of Hundreds of Coats Collected by Columbia Gorge District Council of the Boy Scouts of America; Coats to be Shared with Partner Ministries and Community Organizations - 01/02/18

Vancouver, WA -- Friends of the Carpenter (FOC) will once again be gifted with several hundred warm, gently-used coats collected by the Columbia Gorge District Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

"We are truly blessed to have such generous partners as the Boy Scouts of America to help us in assisting those in need during the winter months," said Tom Iberle, executive director.

The coats will be delivered to the Friendship Center, 1600 W 20th St., on Sat. Jan. 6.; volunteers will sort them by size and category (men's, women's and children's).
FOC will make the donated coats available to their partner Ministries and community organizations, including FISH, Adventist Community Services, Open House Ministries, the Vancouver and Evergreen school districts and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
