On August 5, 2018 at approximately 2:45 PM Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle (motorcycle) crash on Hwy 224 near milepost 43.

Investigation reveals that a 2017 KTM Motorcycle, being operated by Casey SMITH, age 51 of  Oregon City, was travelling on Hwy 224 when for unknown reasons he left the roadway on a left hand curve and travelled into the ditch. 

SMITH suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OSP was assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, medical and rescue personnel, and ODOT.
