Portland Business Alliance board of directors announces endorsements for 2018 Multnomah County, Washington County and Portland City Council races - 01/09/18

Portland, Ore. -- Today, the Portland Business Alliance board of directors announced its endorsement of candidates in a number of local races.

"The candidates selected show a strong understanding of what is needed to ensure this region remains attractive for employers," said Sandra McDonough, president and CEO of the Portland Business Alliance. "While undergoing the endorsement process, the board closely examined each candidate's position on critical issues that impact the economy and help maintain a high-quality of life for everyone. We believe the selected individuals are committed to achieving these goals at their respective levels of government."

Endorsements announced by the Alliance board today were:

Washington County
Chair: Ryan Deckert
District 2: Pam Treece
District 4: Jerry Willey

Multnomah County Commission
Chair: Deborah Kafoury

Portland City Council
Position 2: Nick Fish

Alliance board endorsements are based on a process that includes candidate questionnaires and interviews conducted by its endorsement committee, followed by a vote by the full board. Two-thirds of the board members present must agree before an endorsement is made. The Alliance board will consider other races for endorsements over the next few months.
