On 04/08/18 Sandy Police arrested Jacobe Davidson-Manion, 18, for multiple crimes in connection with a string of vehicle thefts and break-ins reported in the last two weeks. Davidson-Manion was charged with five counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, and one count of Attempt to Elude a Police Officer. He was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on $35,000 bail.
A 16 year old male juvenile from Portland was also arrested in connection with the crime spree on 04/07/18. That juvenile, who was already reported as a runaway in Portland, was picked up by Gresham Police before Sandy Police took custody. The juvenile was interviewed at the Sandy Police Department and subsequently admitted involvement in the theft of eight vehicles, including several taken from Sandy. Both Davidson-Manion and the juvenile were involved in a short police pursuit on 03/29/18 and both admitted their involvement in that incident. The juvenile was taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center in Portland, where he was lodged on nine counts each of Unlawful Use of a Vehicle and Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, seven counts of Recklessly Endangering, two counts of Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, and one count of Failing to Perform the Duties of a Driver (property).
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
