Retirees Face New Social Challenges, Including Ageism In 2025 (Photo) -06/03/25

Critical resources that go beyond financial planning are now available

In Oregon about 800,000 people are already retired or in the process of retiring. Some choose their retirement date, while others are forced into retirement due to job loss or organizational changes. One-third or more of all retirees struggle to adjust to life after their career.

While most retirement planning tends to focus on financial aspects, a practical process guided by a coach, provides the tools and support to ensure that retirees can create a fulfilling life – not just an affordable life.

Retirement coaching helps the individual or couple:

  • Develop an on-going plan for this next chapter of their life
  • Validate strengths, beliefs and sense of value outside the work environment
  • Establish pathways to achieve their positive retirement experiences

Today’s retirees are living about 20 years longer than their parents did. Their sense of security, peace of mind and emotional fulfillment in retirement can depend on making financial, social, and emotional decisions early to ensure that their current and future life circumstances remain self-directed. Woloshin Communications is now offering retirement coaching and courses to individuals, couples and organizations to help them establish and achieve their individualized goals.

Mara Woloshin, certified by the International Federation of coaches, is guided by the whole person approach to retirement. Her passion is to ensure retirees transition successfully and are prepared to thrive, regardless of circumstances. Woloshin Communications has provided focused services on American’s aging population through outreach and advocacy, workshops, and Medicare and Medicaid consulting, since 2012. The company has expanded its array of services to include retirement coaching.
