News Release
Officers Investigate Domestic Disturbance and Shooting in SW Portland - one person injured - 12/29/18

On Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 11:44 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 9800 block of Southwest 35th Drive on the initial report of a theft of license plates.

Shortly after the original call was dispatched, a complainant told a 9-1-1 call-taker she had received a phone call from her domestic partner telling her that he was on his way to the residence to harm the family.

As officers arrived, they learned that the subject approached the complainant's residence and was shot by another family member from inside the residence.

Officers placed the shooting subject into custody without incident. Officers rendered first aid to the victim of the shooting who was then transported by ambulance to an area hospital with what was believed to be serious physical injuries.

Members with the Portland Police Bureau Family Services Division's Domestic Violence Reduction Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Anyone with information about this investigation should contact Detective Sean Harris at 503-823-0097, Sean.Harris@portlandoregon.gov.

The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect name and charges will be released at a later time.
