Armed Robberies Lead To Arrests At North Central Neighborhood Apartments (Photo) -06/02/25

RELEASE DATE:  June 2, 2025
CASE NUMBER:   25-22393, 25-222404 & 25-22412

Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police are investigating a series of related armed robberies that occurred overnight at an apartment complex, located in the 24000 block of SE Stark St., which ultimately led to the arrest of two suspects, one of whom was wearing clothing stolen in an earlier robbery.

First Incident – Armed Robbery (Case #25-22393)

On June 1, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian robbery at gunpoint at the apartment complex. The victim reported being approached by a group of four subjects, one armed with a handgun. The suspects stole the victim’s keys, jewelry, and a specific brand hoodie before fleeing on foot.

A perimeter was established, and a track was initiated by a K9 officer and his partner. During this effort, an unrelated shooting was reported nearby, diverting resources from the scene.

Second Incident – Armed Robbery (Case #25-22404)

Just over two hours later, at approximately 12:50 a.m., a second robbery was reported at the same location. A male subject ran to a nearby service station and reported that he had been lured to the apartments by two females via Instagram, then ambushed by two armed males who stole his cell phone and hoodie. Witnesses noted that one of the suspects was wearing a distinctive brand hoodie taken from the first victim.

Third Incident – Robbery Suppression Detail & Arrests (Case #25-22412)

Officers observed two males walking near the basketball courts within the apartment complex around just after 3 a.m. One of them was wearing the distinctive brand hoodie matching the item stolen in the earlier incident.

When officers attempted contact, both suspects ran. One was quickly detained and found wearing the stolen sweatshirt. A perimeter was established, and Officer Debler and K9 Jager successfully tracked the second suspect to a hiding spot in the neighborhood just south of the complex.

Jeremiah White, 18, was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) on suspicion of Robbery in the First Degree and other related charges. A 17-year-old male was lodged at the Donald E. Long Home on similar charges. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Gresham Police Tip-Line at 503-618-2317.

Gresham, Ore.— A third youth has been arrested in connection with a Gresham drive-by shooting.   Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3500 block of SE Richey Rd in the early hours of May 13th.  At the scene, officers found shell casings in the street and a nearby home that had been struck by gunfire; however, none of the occupants of the home were injured.

A short time later, Jeffrey Daniel arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle.  Daniel was in extremely critical condition when he arrived at the hospital.  The vehicle Daniel arrived in was found to have been stolen and two youth who arrived with him were detained.

Following an investigation, detectives determined Daniel and three juveniles, including the two detained at the hospital, had committed the drive-by shooting on Richey Rd.  During the shooting, gunfire from another occupant of the car struck Daniel, fatally injuring him.  The two youth detained at the hospital were arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and other crimes.

Detectives tracked the third shooting suspect to a residence in northeast Portland.  On Tuesday afternoon, investigators with the Major Crimes Team, assisted by the Portland Police Bureau Special Emergency Reaction Team, served a warrant and took the final suspect into custody.

Despite the best efforts of hospital staff, Daniel died of his injuries on the afternoon of May 17th.  With Daniel’s death, the three juvenile suspects, all 16-years-old, are now facing charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Conspiracy.

The vehicle used in the shooting has been located.

Traffic Investigators Identify Person Of Interest In Hit-and-Run Case (Photo) -05/15/25

RELEASE DATE: May 15, 2025
CASE NUMBER: 23-52228

Gresham, Ore. — Traffic investigators have identified a person of interest connected to a serious hit-and-run crash that occurred on New Year’s Eve 2023 in Gresham. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance with locating Salomon Martinez Gonzalez, 35, formerly of Gresham.

As previously reported, on Dec. 31, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers and medical personnel responded to a collision involving a red Chevy Sonic and a motorcycle at SE Division St. and SE 202nd Ave. The driver of the Sonic rear-ended the motorcycle, knocking the rider to the ground, then ran over the victim before fleeing the scene. The rider was hospitalized in critical condition and remained in the hospital for over a month.

Gresham Police have remained in contact with the victim’s family throughout the investigation. With their support, investigators are now releasing a video of the crash, hoping it will generate renewed public interest and assist in locating the person of interest.

A receipt from a local liquor store was found in the suspect vehicle, and investigators obtained surveillance footage of a man making a purchase shortly before the crash. That individual has now been identified as Salomon Martinez Gonzalez. He unexpectedly abandoned his apartment just days after the incident and may have fled the state or country.

“We are urging anyone who knows Salomon’s whereabouts to come forward,” said Officer Adam Oblack, the lead investigator on the case. “This case has deeply impacted the victim and his family. Identifying Salomon is a step forward, but we need help from the community—and possibly the online community—if he has fled the area.”
