Months-Long Investigation In Northern Douglas County Leads To Recovery Of Stolen Vehicles And Property, Multiple Arrests Made -02/16/25

YONCALLA, Ore.  -- A months-long investigation in northern Douglas County has concluded with the successful recovery of numerous stolen vehicles and property, as well as multiple arrests. The investigation, which focused on a large-scale chop shop operation, involved deputies working to track down stolen vehicles and property.

 

Reports indicated that stolen vehicles were being transported to a residence located in the 200-block of Lower Crest Road in Yoncalla, where they were being disassembled as part of an organized operation. Deputies launched the investigation, which culminated in the execution of a search warrant on January 15, 2025.

 

During the search, deputies recovered 10 stolen vehicles, along with property that belonged to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

 

As the investigation progressed, additional stolen vehicles and equipment were identified. On February 8, 2025, deputies returned to the Lower Crest Road residence, where they uncovered a stolen Sureclean Northwest power washer buried on the property. The investigation then expanded to Lane County, where a stolen 1956 Porsche was recovered in Eugene. Further inquiries took deputies to Sweet Home, where they recovered a stolen 2024 Husqvarna 300 dirt bike and a 1995 Jeep CJ5.

 

The investigation resulted in several arrests, including:

 

Junior Victor Cullison (28) of Yoncalla -- Facing charges of Possession of Stolen Vehicle x9, Trafficking Vehicle with Altered VIN x12, Criminal Mischief II, Theft By Receiving, Failure to Obtain Vehicle VIN, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle x6, and Aggravated Theft I -- Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories.

 

Travis E. McKown (45) of Yoncalla -- Facing charges of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle x2 and Trafficking Vehicle with Altered VIN.

 

William "Willie" Spain, Jr. (42) of Eugene -- Facing charges of Possession of Stolen Vehicle x4, Trafficking Vehicle with Altered VIN x4, Criminal Mischief I x4, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle x4, and Aggravated Theft I -- Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories.

 

Deputies believe additional arrests may occur as the investigation continues.

Names Released In Yoncalla Homicide/Suicide Case (Photo) -02/08/25

YONCALLA, Ore. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has concluded its investigation into the apparent homicide/suicide in Yoncalla that was discovered on Friday, January 31, 2025.

 

Deputies had responded to the residence in the 100-block of Williams Road in Yoncalla. Upon arrival, a deputy observed two persons down in the residence and forced entry. The deputy confirmed the two adult individuals were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

 

Detectives determined the incident was the result of a homicide/suicide domestic violence incident. During the course of the investigation it was determined 68-year-old Yoncalla resident Steven Curtis Bolin shot and killed his wife, 62-year-old Michelle Bolin before turning the gun on himself.

 

There are no additional updates expected in this investigation.

 

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Oregon State Police, Sutherlin Police Department and North Douglas County Fire & EMS.

YONCALLA, Ore. - Detectives are investigating an apparent homicide/suicide in Yoncalla. 

 

On Friday, January 31, 2025, around 10:20 PM, a business called the Douglas County Sheriff's Office requesting a welfare check on an employee who had not shown up for work.

 

Deputies responded to the residence in the 100-block of Williams Road in Yoncalla. Upon arrival, a deputy observed two persons down in the residence and forced entry. The deputy confirmed the two adult individuals were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. 

 

Detectives were requested to the scene along with the Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office. Evidence at the scene indicates that the incident is likely homicide/suicide. The names of both individuals and the details of the victim and perpetrator are being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification and further investigation. 

 

Additional details will be disclosed in a subsequent media release. 

 

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Oregon State Police, Sutherlin Police Department and North Douglas County Fire & EMS.

UPDATE: Troyer Missing Person Alert Cancelled (Photo) -02/02/25

UPDATE 02/02/2025 11:00 AM 

GLENDALE, Ore. - On Saturday, February 1, 2025, shortly after 6:00 p.m., dispatchers received a call from a citizen reporting a possible sighting of Troyer's vehicle on Cow Creek Road at approximately milepost 22 outside of Glendale.

Deputies responded to the area locating the vehicle. Mr. Troyer was found to be deceased inside of the vehicle. There are no indications of foul play. The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office was notified as well as his next of kin.

The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the community for their assistance, along with the Oregon Department of Transportation who assisted with the issuance of a Missing Endangered Person Alert along Oregon's highway systems.

ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate Robert Troyer, a missing 81-year-old man with dementia.

 

Troyer was last seen at approximately 11:20 am on Friday, January 31, 2025, when he drove away from his Roseburg, Oregon home in a green 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup with a canopy. Troyer is not in possession of his cell phone or known to possess any other digital device that could aid in locating him. Troyer has been diagnosed with dementia and requires medication he does not have in his possession.

 

Troyer is described as a white male adult who stands at 5'09" weighing 200lbs and has white hair and blue eyes.

If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of Troyer, they are asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 541-440-4471. Reference Case #25-0340

Sunday Afternoon Vehicle Crash Sends Three To Hospital -01/27/25

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon sent both drivers and a minor passenger to the hospital.

 

On Sunday, January 26, 2025, shortly before 12:45 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a two-vehicle crash in the 900-block of Elgarose Road in Roseburg.

 

Deputies and emergency crews arrived to find a 2003 Dodge 3500 pickup, which had been operated by 36-year-old Casey Slater of Winston, off the roadway on its side and into a tree. Deputies determined Slater had been traveling southbound on Elgarose Road when 82-year-old Gary Reeser who was operating a 2018 GMC Sierra pickup made a left-hand turn into the path of Slater. Reeser's vehicle was found off the east side of the roadway.

 

Slater had to be extricated from the vehicle by Central Douglas Fire & Rescue personnel. Slater, his 7-year-old passenger and Reeser were all transported to Mercy Medical Center by Ambulance and later transferred to out of area-hospitals for further treatment.
